With 600+ acres of prime Wisconsin hunting ground, our free-range properties feature 18 strategically placed stands, established food plots, mature hardwoods, thick cover, creek bottoms, and natural travel corridors through some of Wisconsin’s finest woods.
These are semi-guided hunts designed to give you the knowledge and support of our team while still allowing you to enjoy the independence and challenge of a true free-range hunt.

Arrival - Hunt Planning -
Plan to arrive the day before your first scheduled hunt date. This gives everyone time to get settled, meet your guide, become familiar with the property, and put together a game plan before your first sit.
Your guide will go over current deer activity, stand locations, wind conditions, access routes, recent movement, and overall hunting strategy to help put you in the best possible position throughout your stay.

Wisconsin Rut Hunts
Experience the Wisconsin whitetail rut with Wolf River Free Range. Our semi-guided rut hunts run from October 25 through November 21, 2026, giving hunters the opportunity to be in the woods during one of the most exciting times of the season.
3-Day Semi-Guided Hunt — $2,250

Lodging is not included, but lodging options are available near our hunting properties.

How To Get Your License
Wisconsin Hunting License & Tag Requirements
All hunters participating in a Wolf River Free Range Hunt are responsible for obtaining all required Wisconsin hunting licenses, tags, permits, and harvest authorizations prior to their hunt.
Licensing Is Easy
Wisconsin hunting licenses are available over the counter at authorized license sales locations or online through the Wisconsin DNR.

Both Wisconsin residents and non-residents are responsible for purchasing the appropriate license and any required tags or harvest authorizations for the species, season, and weapon they will be hunting.
Hunter Responsibility
It is 100% the hunter's responsibility to obtain and verify all required licenses, tags, permits, and harvest authorizations before arriving for their hunt.
Wolf River Free Range does NOT provide or purchase licenses or tags and is NOT responsible for a hunter arriving without the proper licensing or tags.
We strongly recommend purchasing and verifying your licensing before traveling to Wolf River Free Range to ensure you're ready to hunt when you arrive.
WOLF RIVER FREE RANGE DEPOSIT & BOOKING DISCLOSURE
To secure your hunt dates with Wolf River Free Range, a 50% deposit of the total hunt price, per hunter, is required at the time of booking.
We offer a limited number of hunts each season. Our hunt calendar is intentionally spaced out so we are not putting hunters directly behind other hunters. This helps reduce hunting pressure, gives the property time to settle between groups, and provides every hunter with the best experience we can offer.
Because your dates are reserved specifically for you, your hunt is not considered booked or secured until the 50% deposit has been received.

If Hunt is cancelled By Hunter, Your Deposit is NOT FOREFITTED, It is place on HOLD for 1 year,
DEPOSIT, CANCELLATION & WEATHER POLICY
At Wolf River Free Range, we understand that plans can change. Because we offer a limited number of hunts and reserve specific dates for each hunter, the following deposit and cancellation policy applies.
HUNTER CANCELLATIONS
If a hunt is canceled by the hunter, the deposit is non-refundable but will remain on file as a credit for up to one year from the original scheduled hunt date.
The deposit may be applied toward a rescheduled hunt, subject to available dates.
Deposits not used within the one-year period will be forfeited.
WOLF RIVER FREE RANGE CANCELLATIONS
If Wolf River Free Range cancels your hunt, you will have the choice to:
- Move your deposit to the next available hunt date, or
- Receive a refund of your deposit within 7–10 business days.
WEATHER POLICY
Wolf River Free Range does not control the weather, and hunting naturally comes with changing conditions.
If your Wolf River Free Range guide determines that forecasted weather conditions are poor enough to significantly affect your hunt, we will communicate with you and work together to reschedule your hunt for another available date.
However, the final decision belongs to the hunter. If you are informed of the conditions and choose to proceed with your scheduled hunt, we will honor that decision and hunt as scheduled.
