Hunt Information

The Wolf River Whitetails Experience

At Wolf River Whitetails, every hunt is built around a true fair-chase trophy whitetail experience. We are not a volume-based operation. Our focus is on the hunt, the experience, and the people we share camp with.

Hunt Length & Arrival

All Wolf River Whitetails hunts are 3-day hunts.

  • Hunters should plan to arrive at the lodge the afternoon or evening before the first hunt day, ideally by 5:00 PM
  • Upon arrival, you will have time to:
    • Get settled into the lodge
    • Sight-in bows or firearms if needed
    • Relax and prepare for the hunt ahead

If time allows upon arrival, our team will:

  • Give you a guided tour of the property
  • Scout food plots, ridges, creek bottoms, and travel corridors
  • Attempt to locate target bucks you are hoping to harvest or identify new deer worth chasing

Your Hunt, Your Decisions

At Wolf River Whitetails, the hunter makes the final call.

  • Our guides will recommend setups and strategies based on years of property knowledge, deer movement, and current conditions
  • The hunter always chooses how and where they want to hunt
  • We are here to support your hunting style, not force a program

Daily Hunt Schedule

Morning Hunt

  • Morning hunts typically run until 9:30–10:00 AM, depending on whitetail movement and activity
  • If a hunter chooses to sit longer or all day, we will make it happen

Midday Strategy & Scouting

  • During breakfast or lunch, we will:
    • Review the morning hunt
    • Build the afternoon and evening game plan
  • Midday may include:
    • Scouting the property
    • Watching travel routes
    • Observing bedding areas, food sources, ridges, and creek crossings
    • Gathering real-time information beyond trail cameras

Evening Hunt

  • Evening sits are planned based on:
    • Current deer activity
    • Sightings
    • Wind and weather conditions

This same process is followed each day of your hunt to maximize opportunity and success.

Meals & Dining Experience

All meals are included with your hunt.

  • Meals are either cooked at the lodge or
  • We will take you to local diners or restaurants

When dining out:

  • Wolf River Whitetails covers the bill
  • You simply enjoy great food, good company, and camp conversation

Meals are part of the experience — relaxed, social, and built around enjoying time together after a day in the woods.

Stand & Blind Setups

Wolf River Whitetails offers a variety of comfortable, strategically placed setups, including:

  • Box Blinds
  • Ground Blinds
  • Single & Double Ladder Stands
    • Equipped with bow holders and gear hangers
  • Select lock-on stands in trees

All setups are positioned overlooking:

  • Food plots
  • Active trails leading to bedding or feeding areas
  • Creek bottoms and ridges
  • Utility trails whitetails use to reach feeders and food plots

Trail Camera Access & Scouting

We encourage hunters to prepare a “Hit List” prior to arrival.

  • Hunters may request access to trail camera photos from Reveal or Spartan cameras
  • This allows you to stay connected with the trophy whitetails on the farm
  • Our team uses this information to scout and prepare before you arrive

After the Harvest

Once a deer is harvested:

  • Hunters are not required to assist unless they choose to
  • The Wolf River Whitetails team will:
    • Recover the deer
    • Transport it back to the lodge
    • Take photos
    • Prepare the deer for cleaning

Your job is to enjoy the moment — we’ll handle the rest.

Guide Assistance & Trophy Identification

  • Depending on the trophy class you book, a guide may sit with you during the hunt
  • This is to assist with trophy identification and ensure the correct deer is harvested

If you choose not to have a guide in the stand:

If a buck is harvested that exceeds the trophy class you booked, the hunter is responsible for the price difference listed in the pricing section.

Our Goal & Philosophy

Our goal at Wolf River Whitetails is 100% opportunity and success, built around:

  • Fair-chase hunting principles
  • Strategic land and herd management
  • Quality over volume
  • A relaxed, no-pressure hunting environment

This is why many hunters choose Wolf River Whitetails when they want a true trophy whitetail experience, not just a transaction.
